The Future of Work in Tourism

The Count Down is on!
2 Days to go to the #ITB Berlin Tourism and Travel Convention!
I am already very much looking forward to moderating the last session of the 2nd day of the ITB Berlin fair on March 08th on the #FutureWorkTrack.
In view of the many exciting topics around #thefutureofworkintourism, which have accompanied the industry for a long time, but have now gained new importance and urgency after the Corona pandemic and the increasingly demanding demands of travelers, it’s time to discuss how to master #HolisticTransformation of working in tourism.
This year, there will be a whole session track dedicated to pressing questions and hot topics shaping the debate about how to secure the supply of skilled and motivated workers in the tourism industry while mega trends of New Work are reinventing the very key components of work itself: The concepts of WHO, WHERE, HOW and WHY:

Among others, on the fair I am seeking answers to the following questions:
- What is the status quo of the labor market in the tourism industry and how do the prospects about the next generation of talented tourism experts and specialists look like?
- What solutions and best practices do role models, e.g. from the hotel and travel agency segment, already provide and what can be learned from them?
- How can tourism companies use their outstanding expertise in #branddevelopment and #emotionalcommunication to tell a #narrative about the tourism industry that conveys authentically and in a target-group-specific way why it is worthwhile to start a #careerintourism?
- Which #NewWorkTrends and #NewTechnologies will change working in tourism in the short and in the long run and what socio-culturalal, societal, political, economic, legal, and financial implications will that have?
- To what extent will a stringent commitment to developing, creating, and practicing a Culture of Diversity among the future workforce in tourism be the key to overcoming the shortage of skilled workers? #womeninbusiness #goldenageworker

I am eager to discuss these and other points with my guests Sabine Pracht, Editor-in-Chief of fvw and expert on #femaleleadership, and Prof. Dr. Heinz-Dieter Quack, Professor of Business Administration and Destination & Innovation Management in Tourism.
